Volleyball Falls In Four To Charlotte

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Charlotte knocked off UNCW in four sets in the final match of the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational on Saturday at Hanover Hall.

The 49ers ran their record to 3-7 while the Seahawks dropped to 3-4.

Emma Chappell paced the Seahawks with nine kills and four total blocks.

Kristen Birmingham held match-high honors with 18 kills and rounded out a double-double effort with 11 digs.

The Seahawks open Coastal Athletic Association at Northeastern next weekend with a 2 p.m. start on Sept. 21.
