HEMPSTEAD, New York – A pair of early goals lifted No. 16 Hofstra over the UNCW men's soccer team, 3-0, in the Seahawks' Coastal Athletic Association opener on Saturday afternoon at the Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
The Pride (5-0-1, 2-0 CAA) remain unbeaten in 2024. The Seahawks (1-2-3, 0-1 CAA) continue their road swing on Tuesday at NC State.
An unassisted goal by Hofstra's Jacob Woznicki in the third minute was followed by a converted penalty kick from Eoin Farrell to give the Pride a 2-0 advantage 15 minutes into the contest.
Hofstra followed with another goal by Lennon Gill just under three minutes before halftime to provide the hosts with a 3-0 lead it would hold the remainder of the game.
UNCW and the Wolfpack kick off on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
