Men's Soccer Falls at No. 18 NC State

RALEIGH, North Carolina – A 66th-minute goal by NC State's Hakim Karamoka pushed the 18th-ranked Wolfpack past the UNCW men's soccer team, 4-1, on a rainy Tuesday evening at the Dail Soccer Stadium.

The Wolfpack (5-0-2) and the Seahawks (1-3-3) combined for 22 shots in the first meeting since 2018 between the schools.

Defender Josef Hefele's second goal of the season neutralized a 16th-minute goal by NCSU's Isaac Heffess just under three minutes before halftime that saw the match tied 1-1.

The game remained deadlocked until Karamoka's score on an assist by Donovan Phillip. The sophomore forward headed in a ball in the 67th minute that made contact with a UNCW player before going in to make it 3-1 in favor of NCSU.

The Wolfpack's Taig Healy curled a free kick into the top left of the net for a 4-1 result in the 81st minute.

The Seahawks return home to play Drexel on Saturday at 2 p.m.
