Womble Leads UNCW To Pair Of Sweep

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Liv Womble's 13 kills and .433 hitting average lifted UNCW to a 3-0 sweep of Queens in the final match of the Hampton Inn and Suites Seahawk Classic on Sunday at Hanover Hall.

The Seahawks, who began the day with a 3-0 win over Loyola, finished the weekend with a 2-1 mark while Queens fell to 0-3.

Womble, a graduate transfer from George Washington, added four total blocks and a pair of digs. Sarah Thompson and A'siya Magazine chipped in nine and eight kills, respectively, as UNCW compiled a .310 hitting average.

Alleigh Johnson led Queens with 11 kills.

In the Loyola match, Thompson paced the Seahawks with nine kills. Quinn Manley and Sydney Marshall collected 10 digs apiece. Marshall completed a double-double with 13 assists.
The Seahawks visit Stetson on Sept. 6 for a 6 p.m. start.
