Redshirt freshman Ryan Lee's first career goal came off a header from a perfectly placed long service from junior Jack Clarkson to to give UNCW a 1-0 lead it would not surrender.
Engh's nine saves anchored a Seahawk defense that withstood 13 American shot attempts.
Freshmen Jacob Coates (4) and Sune Aarup (3) combined for seven shots for the Seahawks.
