Blue Devils Turn Back Seahawks in Durham

DURHAM, North Carolina – Duke scored three first-half goals to turn back the UNCW women's soccer team 4-0 on Thursday night at Koskinen Stadium.

The Blue Devils upped their record to 2-1 on the early season. The Seahawks fell to 2-2-1.

UNCW and Duke were scoreless through 30 minutes of play before the Blue Devils' Kat Rader converted a penalty kick. Duke's Cameron Roller – assisted by Hannah Bebar – and Devin Lynch each contributed goals before halftime to give the Blue Devils a 3-0 advantage at the break.

The Blue Devils' Maggie Graham added one score after the intermission in the 50th minute courtesy of helpers by Nicole Chico and Bebar.

The Seahawks' Kayla Burroughs, Kate Cox, Ayanna Parker and Brooke Spadin each totaled one shot attempt for the UNCW.

UNCW hosts East Carolina on Sunday night at 7 p.m.
