Men's Tennis Adds Another Ranked Win To Resume

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Jordi Domench, a freshman, clinched UNCW's 4-3 win over nationally-ranked Liberty with a three-set win at number six singles on Saturday at the Liberty Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks posted their second win of the week and third of the season over a ranked opponent and improved to 14-5 entering the Coastal Athletic Association championship tournament next week in Williamsburg. The Flames, meanwhile, fell to 16-7 with the home loss.

Domenech pushed his record to 9-3 with his three-set win (4-6, 7-5, 7-5) over Chase Robinson.

After winning the doubles point, Liberty added a win at third singles before Trey Mallory got the Seahawks on the board with a straight-set win over Matija Samardzic (7-6 (7-5), 6-2).

Luis Felipe Miguel gave the Flames a 3-1 lead with his win on two over Beka Rasamatov.

The Flames would not win another match as Harold Huens rolled on court one and Gabe Hurtado tied the match at 3-all on court four.

The Seahawks, who enter the CAA Tournament as the three-time defending champion, learn its seed when the bracket is unveiled early next week.
