Streak Goes To Seven!! UNCW Rallies Past ODU

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Wins by Trey Mallory and Jordi Domenech finished off a UNCW rally for a 4-3 win at nationally-ranked Old Dominion on Thursday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.

The Seahawks, who were ranked 71st, ran their winning streak to seven with the victory and are now 13-5 this season. ODU, meanwhile, dropped to 16-7 and 9-2 at home.

UNCW trailed 3-1 following a loss on court four, but Harold Huens posted a straight-set win (6-2, 6-3) at number one singles to narrow the deficit to 3-2.

Domenech drew the Seahawks even with a three-set win on court six (6-3, 2-6, 6-0) and Mallory won 7-5 in the third set of his victory over Maxime Mareschal (6-2, 1-6, 7-5).

ODU earned the doubles point and the early lead with wins at number one and two doubles.

The Seahawks next visit #48 Liberty on Apr. 13, for a 1 p.m. start.
