WILMINGTON, N.C. – Tanner Thach homered twice for the second straight game and UNCW held off Saint Joseph's in the ninth inning for a 6-5 win on Friday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks evened their record at 7-7 with the win while the Hawks fell to 5-6.

In the eighth, Trevor Marsh opened the inning with a walk and one batter later, Thach launched his sixth round tripper of the season to break a 2-all deadlock.

Freshman reliever Connor Marshburn (2-0) earned the win for UNCW and Luke Craig notched his first save of the season.

Luke Gabrysh (0-1) took the loss in relief for the Hawks. SJU starter Will McCausland struck out 10 over six innings of work.

UNCW starter RJ Sales didn't figure in the decision but limited SJU to a pair of hits and two runs over seven innings.
