Women's Tennis Beats GW, 4-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW halted a modest two-match losing skid on Saturday with a 4-0 win over visiting George Washington at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

UNCW improved to 8-5 while the Revolutionaries fell to 3-12.

Anna Parker Shumate and Lucia Gomez clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Alejandra Ramirez and Charlotte Bell.

Gomez recorded a win at fifth singles, 6-1, 6-3 to make it 2-0 and Katelyn Hubbard moved it to match point on court four with a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

Elif Albayrak ended the match at third singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win.

UNCW next visits North Carolina Central on Apr. 5 in a 1 p.m. start.
