Men's Tennis Improves To 5-1 At Home

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW made quick work of visiting Richmond on Sunday as the Seahawks blanked the Spiders, 4-0, at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks improved to 8-5 on the season and 5-1 at home. UR, meanwhile, dropped to 10-5.

Gabe Hurtado and Juan Jose Vargas clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Mark Taranov and Sebastian Miano. Reece Falck and Harold Huens added a win at the number one doubles with a 6-4 victory.

Jordi Domenech made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-2 win at number five singles and Beka Rasamatov made it 3-0 with a win at number two singles.

Huens clinched the match at the number singles when he fashioned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Daniel Kliebhan.

The Seahawks host nationally-ranked Delaware on Mar. 27 at 2 p.m.
