Campbell Outlasts UNCW In Double Overtime, 105-100

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Trazarien White's career and game-high 38 points were one short of the UNCW program record, but the Seahawks bowed in double overtime, 105-100, at Campbell in Coastal Athletic Association basketball action on Monday at Gore Arena.

The Seahawks (20-8, 11-5 CAA) fell into a tie for second with Drexel and Hofstra. The Camels improved to 13-16 overall and 6-9 in the CAA.

With the game tied at 99-all in the second overtime and 2:03 remaining, Laurynas Vaistaras knocked down a free throw that started a game-ending 6-1 run.

White finished 14-of-26 from the floor, was 9-for-10 from the free throw line on the evening and hauled in a team-high nine rebounds. His 38 points were one short of tying Brian Rowsom's record of 39 against East Carolina in 1987.

Anthony Dell'Orsu paced the Camels with 34 points and his game-high 11 rebounds rounded out a double-double. Also notching a double-double for Campbell was Vaistaras with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jasin Sinani finished with 27 points.

UNCW trailed by as many as 17 with 11:17 remaining in regulation, but the Maleeck Harden-Hayes hit a three-pointer with 19 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Campbell outscored the Seahawks 28-18 in the paint in opening a 43-36 halftime lead.

The Seahawks return to Trask Coliseum where they'll close out the regular season with two games. On Thursday, UNCW hosts Hofstra at 7 p.m., and on Saturday it'll be a 2 p.m. start against Towson, which will be shown on CBS Sports Net.
