Delaware Turns Back UNCW

NEWARK, Delaware – A strong start to the game by Delaware turned back UNCW, 73-35, in Coastal Athletic Association women's basketball action on Friday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

The Blue Hens (10-15, 6-7) reached double-digit wins while the Seahawks (5-19, 3-10 CAA) turn their attention to their penultimate 2023-24 regular season road contest at Drexel on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Delaware's Rebecca Demeke's 20 points and Klarke Sconiers was a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.

Freshman Kylah Silver (16 points) reached double figures for the fifth straight game and 13th time this season to lead the Seahawks.

Delaware raced out to a 21-0 lead over the first 8:05 of play and concluded the first quarter in front 23-4 to put the game on ice.

The two teams will meet again in the Seahawks' home finale on Thursday, Mar. 7.
