UNCW Knocks Off Tribe, 81-65, For 20th Win

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Shykeim Phillips and KJ Jenkins combined for 37 points as UNCW ran past William & Mary on Thursday for an 81-65 win in Coastal Athletic Association men's basketball action at Kaplan Arena.

The Seahawks, who have now won 20 games for the third straight season, upped their record to 20-7 overall and 11-4 in the CAA. The Tribe, who saw its losing streak extended to seven, fell to 8-20 and 3-12 in the league.

Phillips, who held game-high honors with 19 points, also doled out five assists and recorded three steals. Jenkins, meanwhile, finished 7-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-11 from three-point range.

Trazarien While and Maleeck Harden-Hayes added 14 points apiece for the Seahawks.

Caleb Dorsey paced the Tribe with 14 points and Trey Moss chipped in 12.

UNCW used a late first-half run to take a 42-33 lead into halftime. With 4:10 left and the game tied at 27-all, Harden-Hayes buried a three-pointer that ignited a 12-2 run that gave UNCW a 39-29 lead at the 1:38 mark.

The Seahawks visit Campbell on Monday for an 8:30 p.m. start on CBS Sportsnet.

Notes: The Seahawks also earned their 10th road win, moving into a tie for the national lead … Jenkins moved into a tie with Brannon Lancaster for ninth on UNCW's single-season three-pointers made list with 79 … He's also eighth with 203 three-pointers attempted … UNCW remains one game behind Charleston for the conference lead.
