Elon Stuns UNCW At the Buzzer, 73-72

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Isaac Harrell's tip-in at the buzzer lifted Elon to a 73-72 win over UNCW in Coastal Athletic Association men's basketball action on Saturday at Trask Coliseum.

The Phoenix improved to 12-15 overall and 5-9 in the CAA. The Seahawks, who saw their five-game winning streak halted, dipped to 19-7 and 10-4.

Harrell's tip-in came off a driving miss from TK Simpkins. It was Harrell's only field goal of the night.

Elon's Max McKinnon led all scorers with 21 points and he was joined in double figures by LA Pratt with 13, Sam Sherry had 12 and Simpkins finished with 14.

Khamari McGriff paced five Seahawks in double digits with a career-high 14 points. Maleeck Harden-Hayes chipped in 13 points, KJ Jenkins and Trazarien White both had 12 points and Shykeim Phillips finished with 10 points and matched his career-high with nine assists.

McGriff had 12 points in the first half to give UNCW a 42-36 lead. He was 6-for-8 from the field.

The Seahawks visit William & Mary on Feb. 22 for a 7 p.m. start.
