UNCW Rolls Past Mount Olive In Opener

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW rolled past visiting Mount Olive, 7-0, in the season opener for both programs on Thursday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

"It was a great start to the spring season," said Head Coach Hans Olsen. "Our primary focus was to bring a lot of positive energy and set the tone for how we approach match day. Our energy provided a great atmosphere at our home courts. We look to continue to bring the energy to our next match on Saturday. 

The Seahawks earned the doubles point before taking all six singles matches.

Alex Borcich, a freshman, picked up the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Sara Gajbhiye at the sixth position.

Also earning wins in their college debuts were Katelyn Hubbard and Lucia Gomez.

UNCW hosts Presbyterian on Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
