Women's Basketball Knocks Off SJSU In Overtime, 65-61

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Jania Hall's three-pointer for UNCW with one second remaining in regulation forced overtime and the Seahawks outscored San Jose State, 8-4, in overtime on Thursday for a 65-61 win at the Puerto Rico Clasico.

The Seahawks pushed their record to 5-3, their best start since 2017-18 when they opened with the same mark. The Spartans, meanwhile, saw their modest two-game winning streak snapped and dipped to 4-3.

Hall, who finished with a season-high 20 points, rallied the Seahawks in the final 1:19 as they erased a seven-point deficit. McCall King ignited the late run with five points.

Evan Miller joined Hall in double figures with 14 points. Ali Zelaya grabbed a career-high tying 12 rebounds.

Djessira Diawara recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds for SJSU. Amira Brown added 13 points off the bench.

The Seahawks close out the tournament on Friday with a 5 p.m. start against UMass Lowell.
