UNCW Winning Streak Halted At Four

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Behind 20 points from Diamond Johnson, Norfolk State halted UNCW's winning streak at four games with a 71-52 win over the Seahawks on Saturday at Trask Coliseum.

Norfolk State, which is ranked 10th among mid-majors, ran its record to 6-1 with the win while the Seahawks saw their four-game winning streak halted and dropped to 4-3.

Joining Diamond in double-figure scoring were Da'Brya Clark and Kierra Wheeler with 19 and 16 points, respectively. Makeye Diawara added 11 points.

Taylor Henderson's 13 points led the Seahawks and Ali Zelaya added 10 points of her own and hauled in nine rebounds.

The Spartans took control of the game in the first quarter, using a 15-0 run to build a 19-4 lead with 3:33 left.

The Seahawks will spend the Thanksgiving Holiday at the Puerto Rico Clasico where they'll play San Jose State and UMass Lowell on Nov. 28 and 29, respectively. Both games are 4 p.m. starts.
