Volleyball Gains Split With Route Of Camels

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – UNCW gained a split of its Coastal Athletic Association series at Campbell with a dominant sweep of the Camels on Saturday at Gore Arena.

With the conference road win, the Seahawks improved to 7-14 overall and 4-10 in the league. The Camels, meanwhile, slumped to 6-18 and 4-10. The victory was UNCW's fifth sweep of the season.

UNCW, which hit .278 on the afternoon, was led by A'siya Magazine's 12 kills. Liv Womble added nine kills and Grace Melnick chipped in eight.

Melnick led an impressive effort at the net with six blocks while Margo Huff had five.

Sydney Marshall collected 16 assists and a season-high four aces.

Gwen Wolkow paced Campbell with nine kills as the Camels crafted a .072 hitting average.

The Seahawks hit .462 in the second set, a 25-14 route.

The Seahawks host the College of Charleston on Nov. 9-10 in their final home matches of the season.
