Women's Basketball Extends Winning Streak With Rout

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW extended its winning streak to three games and broke the 100-point mark for the first time since 1997 with a 103-22 rout of the Apprentice School on Saturday at Trask Coliseum.

The Seahawks improved to 3-2 on the season and matched their longest winning streak since the 2019-20 season. The Builders, meanwhile, dropped to 0-4.

UNCW's Ali Zelaya posted her second double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Evan Miller added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field. Kate Hollifield and Isis Fitch finished with 12 points apiece.

Led by Jania Hall's career-high six assists, the Seahawks also set a program record with 36 assists. Hall also surpassed the 200 career assist mark with her second helper of the game. With her last basket of the game coming in the fourth quarter, Hall also crossed the 800 career point mark.

UNCW set the tone in the first quarter by setting a program record for points scored in an opening quarter while running out to a 29-4 lead. A 32-point second quarter was a program record for overall scoring in a quarter.

All 12 Seahawks scored in the game.

Dajanelle Linton-Robinson and Nyla Jackson paced the Apprentice School with 10 points each.

The Seahawks continue their three-game homestand when they host Winthrop on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
