Seahawks Earn 3-0 Win at Hampton

HAMPTON, Virginia – Senior Emily Bowbliss scored a goal for the third straight game as the UNCW women's soccer team earned a 3-0 Coastal Athletic Association road win at Hampton on Thursday afternoon at Powhatan Field.

The Seahawks (4-6-3, 2-2-1 CAA) matched a season-high with 17 shots against the Lady Pirates (3-9-1, 0-5 CAA) with scores also coming courtesy of graduate student Lexi Vegoda and sophomore Viktoria Hankova.

Goalkeepers Morgan Hobbs, Kitty Pope and Makenna Nunez teamed for a clean sheet, the seventh straight season UNCW has notched a combined shutout.

Vegoda and the Seahawks struck first on a corner kick in the 24th minute in part of an 11-shot first half for UNCW.

Bowbliss connected on her third goal in as many games 22 seconds into the second half on an assist from senior Kayla Burroughs.

Hankova then found the back of the net on a loose ball in the box after freshman Allie Planeaux attempted to score just outside the goal line.

The Seahawks have picked up CAA points in three straight games and will look to continue the trend on Sunday when they host Northeastern at 1 p.m. as part of Alumni Weekend.
