Volleyball Drops Opener at William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – UNCW dropped the opener of a two-match Coastal Athletic Association volleyball series at William & Mary, 3-1, on Saturday at Kaplan Arena.

The Tribe improved to 8-12 overall and 4-7 in the CAA. The Seahawks, meanwhile, slipped to 5-13 and 2-9 in the league.

Marnie Ursem finished with four kills and a career-best eight total blocks for the Seahawks. Emma Chappell held team-high honors with eight kills.

Led by Audrey Brcka's match-high 16 kills, the Tribe finished with three in double figures with Katherine Arnason and Nicole Smith adding 14 and 12 kills, respectively.

The Tribe and Seahawks wrap up the series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. start.
