STONY BROOK, New York – A two-goal effort by Stony Brook's Reilly Rich helped turn back the UNCW women's soccer team, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at LaValle Stadium.
The Seawolves hiked their Coastal Athletic Association record to 5-1-2 and stand 10-3-3 overall. The Seahawks fell to 4-8-5 overall and 2-4-3 in league play.
Rich connected on her first goal of the day on a penalty kick in the 38th minute that gave Stony Brook a 1-0 lead, which carried into halftime.
Shortly following the intermission, Rich completed her brace with a 47-minute score on assists by Mercy Sabuni Soderling and Emanuelly Ferreira.
The Seawolves' Linn Beck notched her seventh goal of the season in the 62nd minute on an Aneta Sovakova helper.
UNCW concludes the 2024 regular season at home next Sunday vs. Elon at 1 p.m.
