Volleyhawks Finish CAA Sweep Behind Womble

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Liv Womble's 17 kills paced UNCW in a four-set win over Hampton as the Seahawks swept the Coastal Athletic Association series this weekend at Hanover Hall.

UNCW moved its overall record to 5-10 with the home win and 2-6 in the conference. The Pirates, however, slumped to 0-19 and 0-8.

Womble's 17 kills were a season-high for the graduate transfer and the most by a Seahawk this season. Grace Melnick and Alex Brezeault added 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Melnick continued to excel at the net with six blocks as the Seahawks totaled 10 total blocks.

Quinn Manley had a match-high 17 digs for the Seahawks.

Noe Gaeta fueled the UNCW offense with a season-high 28 assists.

Madison Clark and Maria Ciara De Andrede each had 10 kills for the Pirates.

UNCW next hosts Hofstra, Oct. 19-20, in a two-match CAA series.
