Men's Basketball Preview: Monmouth

Seahawks play first home game since Dec. 10 on Thursday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW returns to Trask Coliseum on Thursday when it hosts Monmouth in its Coastal Athletic Association home opener. The Seahawks last played in front of their home crowd on Dec. 10.

The Seahawks carry a three-game losing streak into the home opener following a 67-64 loss at the buzzer to Towson last weekend. Trazerien White paced the Seahawks with a career-high 33 points. White, who was listed one of five players in the league listed on the Lou Henson Award, leads the league, and is ranked 12th nationally in scoring.

Monmouth opened the league season 2-0 following a 19-point win over visiting Northeastern on Monday. Xander Rice headed up the Hawks offense with 29 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field in just 24 minutes of action.
