JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee – The UNCW men's tennis team extended its winning streak to seven matches by defeating East Tennessee State, 4-2, in a non-conference men's tennis match on Wednesday at ETSU's Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks raised their record to 11-5 on the season and 3-5 on the road with the victory. The match kicked off a two-match swing to East Tennessee State and Florida State for Mait DuBois and his team.

ETSU fell to 8-12 after suffering its first home loss in seven matches this spring.

The Seahawks evened their doubles record at 8-8 on the year by claiming the early point. The No. tandem of Bekhzod Rasamatov and Gabe Hurtado edged ETSU's Juan Lambisano and Dimitri Badra, 7-6 (4), as the doubles competition went down to the wire.

UNCW then posted wins at No. 3, 5 and 6 singles to nail down the victory. Graduate student Davide Innocenti collected the clincher with a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, victory over Lucas Britez at No. 5 singles. It was the third clincher of the season for the Florence, Italy, product.
