Women's Tennis Team Falls To UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina –  Host UNC Asheville won the doubles point and tacked on five singles victories to hand UNCW its first loss of the spring season, 6-1, in women's tennis action early Saturday at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
 
The Seahawks, 3-1, return home to play UNC Greensboro on Thursday, Feb. 23, in a 2 p.m. match at the UNCW Courts. The Bulldogs stand 6-1 on the new season.
 
In Saturday's match, the Bulldogs won the first two matches off the court in doubles before taking the first four completed singles matches to nail down the win.
 
Sophomore Stela Joksimovic recorded UNCW's lone win on the day, outlasting UNCA's Avery Sager 4-6, 6-3, 11-9, at No. 5 singles.
