Henderson, Silver Record Double-Doubles vs. NC Central

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW guards Taylor Henderson (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Kylah Silver (17 points, 11 rebounds) each notched their first career double-double in the Seahawks' narrow 70-65 setback to NC Central on Thursday afternoon at Trask Coliseum.

The Eagles moved to 5-7 this season while the Seahawks dipped to 2-8 with one non-conference game remaining on the schedule.

Henderson and Silver both reset their personal bests on the glass while Silver matched her career-high in points. Senior guard Evan Miller (15 points and nine rebounds) was one rebound shy of joining her teammates with a double-double.

Henderson and Silver are the first Seahawk teammates to achieve double-doubles in the same game since Mar. 2021.

NCCU guard Jada Tiggett recorded a double-double of her own with 15 points and 10 rebounds while teammate Kyla Bryant led all scorers with 20 points. The duo was joined in double figures by guard Kimeria Burks' 13 points.

The Seahawks, down 58-48 with 7:14 left in the game, closed the gap to four, 58-54, with 5:23 to go courtesy of six straight points. The Eagles then countered with their own six-point stretch to push the lead back to double-digits with under four minutes to go.

UNCW closes out non-conference play on the road at Norfolk State on Dec. 28.
