Henderson's 20 Points Pace Seahawks at Davidson

DAVIDSON, North Carolina – Davidson guard Mallorie Haines' 19 points paced three Wildcats in double figures to turn back UNCW, 75-56, in women's basketball action on Monday night at the John M. Belk Arena.

The Wildcats improved to 10-1 with their eighth straight win while the Seahawks dipped to 2-7 with two non-conference games remaining before Coastal Athletic Association play.

UNCW guards Taylor Henderson (20 points), Evan Miller (13) and Kylah Silver (11) combined for 44 points. Henderson achieved her second game with 20 or more points this season.

Haines was joined in double-digits by junior forward Millie Prior, who finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, and sophomore guard Charlise Dunn's 16 markers.

The Wildcats opened the game on an 11-0 run over the first 2:46 of play before the Seahawks responded with six straight points to make it 11-6 at the 5:35 mark in the first period. Davidson then closest the opening quarter on a 13-6 run to make it 24-12 entering the second period.

UNCW, trailing 43-20 at halftime, outscored the home Wildcats 22-14 in the third quarter and shot 56.3 percent (9-of-16) in the third frame. Davidson, however, kept the Seahawks at bay with 14 of the first 22 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
