Silver Paces Seahawks vs. Presbyterian

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW freshman guard Kylah Silver scored half of her team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, but a late spurt by Presbyterian pushed the Blue Hose past the Seahawks, 64-51, in women's basketball action on Wednesday afternoon at Trask Coliseum.

Presbyterian evened their record at 3-3 overall while UNCW moved to 1-3 ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Blue Hose center Bryanna Brady led all scorers with 20 points and was joined in double figures scoring by guard Tilda Sjokvist with 18 markers. Presbyterian converted 54.2 percent (26-of-48) from the field.

Silver came within one point of matching her career-high for the Seahawks, who shot 31 percent (18-of-58) from the field. Senior guard Evan Miller registered her second double-digit scoring effort of the year with 11 points.

Trailing 35-22 at halftime, the Seahawks pulled to within seven points (58-51) with under four minutes to go in the fourth period on a Miller corner three-pointer. Presbyterian then scored the game's final six points, including four free throws by Sjokvist, to put the game on ice.

The Seahawks remain at home on Sunday, Nov. 26, to host teal rival Coastal Carolina at 2 p.m.
