Men's Basketball Tabbed Second In CAA Coaches Poll

Trazarien White named preseason All-CAA

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW was picked to finish second in the Coastal Athletic Association by the league's coaches and Trazarien White was tabbed first-team All-CAA the league announced on Thursday during its annual media day.

The Seahawks, who return their top four scorers from last season received three first-place votes. Defending conference champion College of Charleston picked up 10 first-place votes and was recognized as the coaches preseason pick to win the league's title.

Drexel, who received the lone remaining first-place vote, was third followed by Hofstra in fourth. Delaware and Towson were tied for fifth.
Drexel's Amari Williams was honored as the preseason player of the year.

White, who led the Seahawks last season averaging 14.2 points per game, is joined by Maleeck Harden-Hayes (9.8), Shykeim Phillips (8.4) and Donovan Newby (8.1) as UNCW's top-four returning scorers from 2022-23.

UNCW graduate student Maleeck Harden-Hayes earned preseason all-conference honorable mention honors.

The Seahawks host Coker in an exhibition game against Coker on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
