Men's Soccer Falls at Drexel, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – Drexel received goals from Giancarlo Vaccaro and Joshua Pulla to turn back UNCW 2-0 in Coastal Athletic Association men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Vidas Field.

The Dragons (7-1-4, 3-1-3 CAA) earned their second straight win to jump ahead of Hofstra (who plays at Delaware Saturday night) for second place in the league standings. The Seahawks (6-4-3, 1-3-2 CAA) dipped to a tie for seventh place with two league games to play.

The teams combined for 25 shots, including 14 in the second half. Drexel held a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Vaccaro and the Dragons broke through with under 15 minutes to play before halftime with his third goal of the season on a rebound off the left post on a shot by Stephen Appiah.

Pulla added the insurance score in the 76th minute with an assist by Ben Weller to help the Dragons close out their CAA home slate with a win.

UNCW will host Delaware next Saturday at 2 p.m. in its home finale. The Seahawks will honor 10 players in a Senior Day pregame ceremony.
