Bass Named Chair Of NCAA D-I Men's Golf Committee

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW Director of Athletics Jimmy Bass is serving as chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee for the 2022-23 year.
 
Bass, beginning his 12th year as head of the UNCW program, was appointed to the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee on Sept. 2, 2019, and replaces Connie Hurlbut of the West Coast Conference as chair.
 
The six-member committee is responsible for the selection and seeding of the competing teams in the NCAA Championships. Bass will attend annual meetings with the Golf Coaches Association of America regarding NCAA Championship format, scoring, media, and factors influencing NCAA men's golf.
 
The NCAA Men's Golf Regionals are scheduled for May 15-17, 2023, at sites hosted by Auburn, Clemson, Michigan State, UNLV, Oklahoma and San Jose State.
 
The 2023 NCAA Men's Golf Championships will be hosted by Arizona State and staged at Grayhawk Country Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

This past summer, Bass received the Cushman & Wakefield AD of the Year Award in the NCAA Division I-AAA division by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) at the group's annual convention in Las Vegas.
