Fobes, Spair Finish Tied For Sixth In Southport

SOUTHPORT, North Carolina – Junior Mallory Fobes and redshirt freshman Deborah Spair finished tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard as UNCW closed out the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships on Easter Sunday at The Reserve Club at St. James.

Charleston (301-291-292=884) captured its fourth CAA crown by 11 strokes over Delaware to secure the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in May. The Cougars' Viktoria Hund carded a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to top the 40-player field.

The Seahawks finished the three-day tournament in third place following a 307 score in Sunday's final round. UNCW competed in its first CAA Championships since winning the event in 2019.

The 225 total matched a season-low for Spair, while Fobes authored her third top-10 finish of the season.

Senior Phu Khine paced the Seahawks in the third round with a 2-over-par 74. The Yangon, Myanmar, product tied for the third-most birdies in the field with nine.
