Ganim, Spair Tied For Fifth At CAA Championships

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – UNCW's Carrie Catherine Ganim and Deborah Spair are tied for fifth place after the first round of the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships on Friday at The Reserve Club at St. James.
 
Charleston, which carded a 301 team score, owns a five-stroke lead over the Seahawks and Elon entering the tournament's second day. Elon's Annabelle Ackroyd and the Cougars' Emma Schimpf pace the 40-player field at 1-over-par 73.
 
Ganim and Spair are perched near the top of the field after both posted a 3-over-par 75 first round score.
 
Junior Mallory Fobes +5 (77) is tied for 15th place after authoring 12 holes of par or better while senior Phu Khine recorded four birdies, the most in the field, to cap CAA Championships' first day.
 
The second round will commence from St. James on Saturday, Apr. 16, at 8:30 a.m.
