Brinker, Fobes Post Top-Ten Finishes At River Landing

WALLACE, N.C. – Led by top-ten finishes by freshman Malu Brinker and junior Mallory Fobes, the UNCW women's golf team closed out the River Landing Classic on Tuesday.
 
James Madison posted a 291-290-285=866 tournament score to win the Seahawk-hosted event by one stroke over East Carolina. UNCW finished tied for ninth after carding a 291-team score in the third round.
 
Brinker finished in a five-way tie for third place after carding a 1-under-par 71 score in the final round. The Wiesloch, Germany, product authored eight birdies in the 54-hole tournament.
 
Fobes, meanwhile, tied for eighth in the tournament with a 5-under-par 67 score on Tuesday, including an Eagle on the fourth hole.
 
The Seahawks return in two weeks for the Clemson Tiger Invitational hosted by Clemson from Mar. 25-27, 2022. The tournament will be contested at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C.
