WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's tennis team lost just three games each in singles and doubles in a 7-0 rout of NCAA Division III Methodist on Friday, steamrolling to its fourth consecutive victory at the UNCW Courts.

Playing in pleasant early-spring conditions, the Seahawks raised their record to 5-1 and stayed perfect at home in four outings with the easy win over the Monarchs. Methodist is now 1-4 this spring after dropping its third road match.

UNCW swept all three doubles matches and clinched the early point with a 6-1 verdict by Maddy Muller-Hughes and Rachel Marthinsen at the No. 2 position over Methodist's Jill Lawrence and Valeria Matute.

The Seahawks poured it on in singles, giving up just three games and sweeping all six matches in dominating fashion. Four of the six matches resulted in bagels.

The Seahawks return to their home courts early Saturday when they take on regional rival Coastal in a 10 a.m. home match.
