No. 45 Charlotte Hands Seahawks 4-1 Defeat

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – No. 45 Charlotte remained undefeated in eight matches at home with a 4-1 decision over visiting UNCW in men's tennis action early Sunday at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
 
The sizzling 49ers hiked their record to 12-4 on the season and won their ninth straight match with Sunday's victory. The Seahawks dropped their second straight outing and stand 9-8 this spring.
 
UNCW secured the doubles point for the third consecutive match, but couldn't hold on as the 49ers swept the first four singles matches off the court to improve to 19-6 lifetime against the Seahawks.
 
The Seahawks won at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles for the early point. The No. 2 team of senior Davide Innocenti and sophomore Reece Falck nailed down the doubles point with a 6-4 triumph against Charlotte's Coy Simon and Vasco Prata.
 
Charlotte boosted its record to 2-0 against Colonial Athletic Association opponents after topping Elon, 5-2, on Friday.
 
The Seahawks return to action next Sunday, April 3, when they wrap up their three-match road swing by traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C., to take on Gardner-Webb's Bulldogs.
