Parks Wins 400M Hurdles At Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, North Carolina – One day after smashing the school's longtime record in the Men's 110 Meter Hurdles, junior Josh Parks was at it again on Saturday in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles at N.C. State's Paul Derr Track.
 
Parks won the challenging 400 Meter Hurdles at the competitive Raleigh Relays with one of the top marks in the nation this spring. The Kannapolis, N.C. standout clocked a 51.55 time to finish just ahead of North Carolina A&T's Akeem Lindo. Parks now owns the fourth best time in the east and 12th best time in the nation following Saturday's electrifying performance.
 
On Friday, Parks clocked a 13.95 time in the 110 Meter Hurdles to finish third, trailing only Ohio State's Oscar Smith (13.73) and N.C. State's Cameron Murray (13.90). The 6-4, 190-pound hurdler broke the record of 14.01 set by Zeickia Ledwell at the IC4A Championships on May 15, 2005. 
 
More than 150 schools competed in the three-day meet. The Seahawks are back in action next weekend when they travel to Greenville, N.C, to participate in the Bill Carson Invitational at East Carolina's Bate Foundation Track & Field Facility.
