Fobes Leads UNCW At Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – Junior Mallory Fobes authored a 1-over-par 73 score to lead UNCW during the opening round of the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Friday.

Illinois and host Clemson pace the 18-team field with a 292-team score. Florida's Marina Escobar Domingo and Notre Dame's Chloe Schiavone are tied atop the individual leaderboard with a 3-under-par 69 score.

Fobes sits in a tie for 14th place after the first round. The East Bend, N.C. product, along with senior Phu Khine and redshirt freshman Deborah Spair, will play the final two rounds of the event as individuals after senior Alexis Jarrell withdrew due to injury on Friday.

The second round of the Clemson Invitational tees off at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
