South Alabama Edges UNCW In Men's Tennis

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – South Alabama won the early doubles point and then split the six singles matches to slip past UNCW, 4-3, at a neutral site men's tennis match on Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex.
 
The Jaguars improved to 9-3 with the win and won for the first time in three tries against the Seahawks. UNCW now stands 5-4.
 
USA won at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions and rallied from a 3-2 deficit for the non-conference win. No. 1 player Jack Clements outlasted UNCW's Bekhzod Rasamatov, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, at the top of the lineup in the decisive match.
 
The Seahawks next play Samford in Charleston, S.C., on March 9.
