Camels Beat Seahawks In Women's Tennis, 6-1

BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – UNCW captured the early doubles point, but host Campbell reeled off six singles victories to hand the Seahawks a 6-1 defeat in the women's tennis road opener for the Seahawks early Friday at the Nisbet Tennis Center.
 
The Seahawks, playing the first leg of a two-game road swing, are 1-1 on the season after topping Presbyterian in the spring opener. The Camels stand 2-3 after a successful home debut.
 
The No. 1 doubles team for the Seahawks picked up the lone win on the day. Newcomers Sasha Belaya and Lauren Gish teamed up for a 7-6 victory over CU's Rhona Cook and Anna-Marie Kopecka.
 
The Seahawks wrap up their road swing on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at N.C. Central in Durham.
