Volleyhawks Fall In Five At Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Katie Lanz and Sarah Knafelz led a balanced offense for UNCW, but the Seahawks fell in five sets on Friday against Jacksonville at Swisher Gymnasium.

Jacksonville earned its first win of the season to snap a three-match losing skid and improve to 1-3. The Seahawks slipped to 1-3 with their second five-set loss of the young season.

Lanz led the Seahawks with 12 kills and Knafelz added a career-high 11 and were joined by Brooke Hanshumaker and Brianna Haggerty with 10 and nine kills, respectively. For Hanshumaker it was a career high.

JU's Cami Kelsay held match-high honors with 18 kills and rounded out a double-double with 10 digs.

Cameron Honn fashioned a double-double of her own for the Dolphins, finishing with 31 assists and 20 digs.

Haggerty and Quinn Manley paced the Seahawks with 16 digs each.

The Seahawks and Dolphins play again on Saturday at 2 p.m.
