Lantz Records Match-high 12 Kills

Seahawks were swept for a second time by Towson

TOWSON, Md. – UNCW fell in three sets to reigning Colonial Athletic Association champions Towson on Sunday at SECU Arena.

The Tigers ran their record in the league to 3-1 and 15-1 overall. The Seahawks, meanwhile, moved to 1-12 and 0-2.

Katie Lanz held match-high honors with 12 kills for the Seahawks, who hit just .089 for the match. Freshman Alexa Brezeault made her collegiate debut for UNCW, finishing with five kills, four digs and a pair of blocks.

Fay Bakodimou, who finished with six aces, and Irbe Lazda combined for 18 of Towson's 39 kills. The Tigers committed just nine hitting errors and finished with a .330 hitting average.

The Seahawks next host Northeastern on Oct. 2-3.
