STILLWATER, Okla. – Cade Cabbiness and Carson McCusker both homered and combined for seven runs batted in as Oklahoma State completed a sweep of a doubleheader against UNCW Saturday evening with a 7-3 win at O'Brate Stadium.
The 13th-ranked Cowboys improved to 20-7-1 with the win and UNCW dropped to 15-11.
OSU freshman starter Justin Campbell ran his record to 4-0 on the season. The righthander surrendered three runs over six innings of work. Kale Davis notched his first save of the season.
Luke Gesell (2-3) was tagged with the loss. He was roughed up for seven runs in 3.1 innings.
Dillon Lifrieri and
Noah Bridges drove in runs for the Seahawks with a sac fly and single, respectively.
How it happened: The Cowboys opened up a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run homer off the bat of Cabbiness and extended the lead to 5-0 in the third. Cabbiness again had the big hit with a two-run single in the third.
