WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – Sophomore
Jordan Faveri scored the game's only goal in the 56th minute as UNCW stayed perfect in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer play with a 1-0 victory against William & Mary at the Dillard Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The win lifted the Seahawks' record to 5-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the CAA while William & Mary dipped to 0-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the circuit.
After a scoreless first half, the Seahawks claimed a 1-0 lead at the 55:18 mark when Faveri secured a diagonal pass from freshman
Madison Henry and took a shot that deflected off a William & Mary defender before going into the right side of the goal.
From there, freshman goalkeeper
Blair Barefoot and the UNCW defense limited the Tribe to just six shots to secure the Seahawks' second straight shutout.
Barefoot, the reigning CAA Rookie of the Week, tallied four saves to earn the win for the Seahawks, who were outshot by a 15-6 margin.
Sophomore
Zoe Doughty posted five saves in the loss for William & Mary.

- UNCW has posted a 4-1-1 record in its last six meetings against the Tribe, including back-to-back 1-0 victories.
- The Seahawks were outshot for just the second time in seven games this season.
- UNCW completed the road portion of its regular season schedule with a 3-1-0 record.
