No. 49 UNCW Posts Fourth Shutout

GREENSBORO, North Carolina – The No. 49-ranked UNCW men's tennis team earned a split of its weekend road trip on Saturday, cruising past state foe UNC Greensboro, 4-0, at the UNCG Tennis Courts.
 
The Seahawks, who dropped a match at Liberty on Friday, raised their record to 8-3 this spring. The Spartans lost their third match in a row and fell to 1-9.
 
UNCW recorded its fourth shutout of the campaign by winning the doubles point in quick fashion and zipping through three singles matches. A rain shower appeared in the area with UNCW on top, 3-0, and the Seahawks needed just one more pairing to clinch the match.
 
UNCW returns to Wilmington for four of its final matches at home, beginning on Friday, April 2, vs. VCU at 3 p.m. UNCG hosts Coastal Carolina on Friday at 2 p.m.
