Seahawks Drop CAA Match To Dukes

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – James Madison swept the doubles point and dropped just two sets in singles to blank host UNCW, 7-0, in Colonial Athletic Association women's tennis early Friday at the UNCW Courts.

The Dukes raised their record to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the CAA with the victory. The Seahawks fell to 5-7 and 0-2. JMU holds a slim 15-13 edge in the all-time series.

JMU, which has won four of its last five outings, claimed all three matches in doubles to take an early 1-0 advantage and then tacked on the first three singles matches off the court in the first matchup between the two teams since April 20, 2018.

The Seahawks, kicking off a four-match home stand, continue their home stay with a 2:30 p.m. match on Sunday, Mar. 28, against state rival UNC Greensboro. The Dukes jump on I-40 for a Sunday match vs. Elon at 1 p.m.
