Mackense Greico drove in five runs as Furman clinched a non-conference softball series win over UNCW with a 10-0 victory in six innings in the series finale at Boseman Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Paladins upped their record to 6-12 after taking two of three games over the Seahawks, who dropped to 3-13 on the season.
Furman surged to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning. After Greico drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk, freshman
Claire Ginder added two more runs with a double to right center field.
The Paladins increased the advantage to 7-0 in the fourth inning by plating four more runs, including a two-run single from Greico and an RBI single by Ginder.
Furman completed the scoring in the sixth inning with three more runs, including a two-run double by Greico.

Shelby Basso improved to 2-3 in the circle after scattering just five hits in a complete game effort with eight strikeouts.
Five different players authored a hit for the Seahawks. Graduate student
Rylee Pate took the loss in the circle after conceding three runs on three hits in the first inning with two strikeouts.
