WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore Zoe Huffman picked up her team-leading fourth victory of the season, but UNCW dropped its Colonial Athletic Association women's tennis opener, 6-1, to visiting Elon on Friday at the UNCW Courts.

The Phoenix pushed their record to 10-3 on the season. The Seahawks now stand 4-6 this spring.

Elon swept the first two matches off the court in doubles to grab a quick 1-0 advantage before Huffman knocked off Shauna Galvin, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 6 singles to square the match. Huffman improved to 4-1 in singles play.

The Phoenix, however, regrouped to claim the remaining five singles matches for the conference victory. Elon improved to 15-9 lifetime against UNCW in women's tennis.

The Seahawks travel to Fayetteville, N.C., tomorrow (March 20) to battle Methodist in a 1 p.m. match. The Phoenix visit Longwood on Tuesday, Mar. 23, for a 2 p.m. match.
